New year, new business

I am setting up a literary agency in probably what is the worst time to be setting up any kind of new business. The credit crunch is nestling down into what looks like it will be a long recession. Anyway, I don’t believe in being a doom and gloom merchant and I decided to become a literary agent long before anyone decided to have a credit crunch (which I still think sounds like it should be a cereal bar), so I’m here and I’m here for the long haul.

The purpose of this blog is to share some of what I get up to, as I don’t think a new literary agent has done this as a blog before. Other book trade businesses have so the idea is not mine. I found Mostly Books blog very interesting when they were going into business.

The champagne is in the fridge as today is my official first day of being in business. But for now, welcome to the blog and do visit again soon (i.e. when there might actually be something worth reading up here).
